Southern Plains-style dance stick (tail stick).
15” long, 1/2" diameter hardwood dance stick (aka "tail stick") with two 6-inch sections of gourd stitch beadwork (turquoise blue 11/0 beads for background color), expertly executed in 11/0 regular, cut and transparent beads. Other bead colors include clear crystal, periwinkle blue, royal blue, transparent dark red, orange, clear orange, golden yellow, yellow, gunmetal and white.  The stick also has a 3-inch section of decorative otter fur. White buckskin wrist tie.  See pictures for details.
Although the craftsperson is NOT a member of an American Indian tribe or nation, he has participated in American Indian powwows and ceremonial dances for over 52 years.  See positive feedback from American Indian and non-Indian customers.
